Why We Recommend It

Hospitality, design & culture come together at this crossroads of three of Toronto’s most happening neighbourhoods - downtown, entertainment district and Chinatown. Enjoy the hip wine bars & art galleries of Queen West, the upbeat nightlife & world-renowned shows of King West and dine on world-famous dim sim in Toronto’s Chinatown neighbourhood - all within walking distance.

Enjoy spectacular Michelin Guide dining at Alder (also a DINR Restaurant partner) and a gorgeous rooftop bar at Evangeline, with some of the most stunning sunset views. True to form, the Ace is a beautifully designed hotel that blends the building’s historic heritage alongside a very cool vibe.

The Ace is a perfect stay for leisure travelers, or business travelers who plan to do a lot of wining, dining, and entertaining. It’s simply one of the best spots in the city for lovers of music, food and art!

Vibe
9.5/10

Eclectic and hip, the hotel attracts a creative crowd. The lobby, described as an "urban living room," buzzes with renowned chefs, PR professionals, journalists, and young locals.

Rooms
8.5/10

The Ace Hotel Toronto features 123 rooms and suites with a minimalist aesthetic and Canadian touches. The rooms include Douglas fir cabinetry and flooring, custom quilts by artist Kyle Parent, Ace guitars and turntables with curated Canadian vinyl albums, and deep-set window benches offering views of the nearby park. The hotel's amenities embrace the brand's urban ethos, with a focus on providing a pleasurable and restful experience. The love the rooms and the Japanese bath products, however, we lowered the score since they run quite small.

RESTAURANT | ROOFTOP BAR + LOUNGE

One of our favourite “food” hotels, with two incredible options for guests and locals alike.

Alder Restaurant, which descends the hotel in a stunningly designed vaulted space, is a DINR Restaurant partner and also a Michelin Guide culinary destination from the critically acclaimed Chef Patrick Kriss (check out his other restaurants - Alo, Aloette, Alobar Downtown and Alobar Yorkville).

Evangeline, the rooftop bar and lounge that offers an exquisitely executed Mid-Century modern vibe, DJs, small plates, a massive fireplace, killer sunsets and crazy good cocktails. If you’re a foodie, you’ll love the Ace.

Location
10/10

Situated in the Garment District in Toronto, the Ace Hotel is within walking distance of some of Toronto’s best neighbourhoods. Hip and trendy Queen West is located nearby with its art galleries, music venues, hip bars and cool cafes. Check out a concert at world-famous (and recently renovated!) Massey Hall. Take in a show in the Theatre District or the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts. Explore Toronto’s vibrant nightlife on King West. Don’t forget to head to Kensington Market with its plethora of vintage shops and some of the best tacos in the city. This location has something for everyone!

“Few hotels in Canada rival the culinary offering of Toronto’s Ace Hotel - between Alder and Evangeline you’re really set. Alder, the hotels’ marquee restaurant, is unsurprisingly delicious (thanks to Michelin awarded Patrick Kriss and his team) and I really loved the vibe of Evangeline on the rooftop.”
