The Winter Series

January 26th - Cabernet Franc of Loire and Niagara

Time: 6:30pm
Location: 1247 Dundas West, Grape Witches Private Salon

In Christopher’s words: The return of a crowd favourite and a grape producing wines not to be underestimated. Cabernet Franc is one of the genetic parents to Cabernet Sauvignon, yet the wines could not be any more different. Wines for every occasion Cabernet Franc produces wines of sheer pleasure when what you need is happiness in a glass and other times, wines of finesse only revealed in gastronomic settings or over time in the cellar. We revisit the Loire with a touch of Niagara.

February 2nd - Pinot Noir Around the World

Time: 6:30pm
Location: 1247 Dundas West, Grape Witches Private Salon

In Christopher’s words: Let’s deep-dive into the diverse world of Pinot Noir. Exploring familiar and less discussed terroirs for Pinot Noir, we will find aromas, flavours and energy that you might have never expected. From the Loire to Germany to Ontario to New Zealand the range flavours of Pinot Noir can be astounding when done well. A rose by any other name – is not always the same – Taste and Find Out.

February 9th - Reisling x Chenin Blanc

Time: 6:30pm
Location: 1247 Dundas West, Grape Witches Private Salon

In Christpher’s words: Opposite sides of the same coin. There are few, if only two, grapes that really can produce wines of all styles at high quality. From dry sparkling to sparkling sweet, off-dry to incredibly mineral and chiseled, still wines plus the full spectrum of dessert wine; these are flavours few other grapes can compete. Sourced mainly from two distinct terroir origins, namely the Mosel of Germany for Riesling and the Loire of France for Chenin Blanc and beyond, let us explore the divine flavours of these two grapes side by side.

February 23rd - Portugal Revisited

Time: 6:30pm
Location: 1247 Dundas West, Grape Witches Private Salon

In Christpher’s words: Portugal is a relatively small country in comparison to Spain, the supersized neighbour to the east. If you look closer, Portugal from north to south presents a diversity of vineyard landscape and a multi-verse of grape varieties waiting to be tasted. Many wines are blended, a reflection of traditional farming with a few exceptions for solo grape appearances. We take a journey through central-ish Portugal from the coast to the mountains.
