The France Series
September 15th - Loire Valley Charm
Time: 6:30pm
Location: 1247 Dundas West, Grape Witches Private Salon
Those who love the wines of the Loire Valley truly love them, ever charming wines of Chenin Blanc, the playful reds of Cabernet Franc and the ever popular Sauvignon Blanc. Yet there are other grapes and wines found in this multifaceted region. Let us explore the greater family of Loire based wines that you have yet to taste!
September 22nd - Languedoc, French Bistro Classics
Time: 6:30pm
Location: 1247 Dundas West, Grape Witches Private Salon
The Languedoc is home to many timeless French bistro classics. Many of them often composed of bold red grapes such as Syrah, Grenache and Carignan in various styles. Then Grenache Blanc, Vermentino and Viognier on the white wine side. Let us take a trip through the foothills of the Montagne Noir to the Mediterranean coast. From Perpignan to Montpellier an exploration of the Languedoc.
September 29th - Villages of Rhône
Time: 6:30pm
Location: 1247 Dundas West, Grape Witches Private Salon
Christopher’s last journey to the Rhône was not a visit to the grand cru zones of Châteauneuf-du-Pape or Côte-Rôtie for big reds and Tavel for Rosé. It was a very diverse wine journey through the ‘villages’ of the Rhône Valley at large. Vibrant Reds and Whites that deliver pleasure and everyday comfort. Fit for any table at any time.
The Italy Series
October 6th - The Grapes of Piemonte
Time: 6:30pm
Location: 1247 Dundas West, Grape Witches Private Salon
The one wine region to rival many for both food and wine quality is Piemonte. Home to great wines of Nebbiolo, white and black truffle, hazelnuts for Nutella and a strong gastronomic history. Amongst all this range of culture comes an array of wines you may not know of. My first ever wine trip was to Piemonte and was spent exploring all grapes. Let us talk and taste Pelaverga, Arneis and Timorasso amongst a few!
October 20th - Lombardy to Veneto
Time: 6:30pm
Location: 1247 Dundas West, Grape Witches Private Salon
As the cooler weather sets in one’s energy might shift to wines of Alpine style and tone. Cooler nights and harvest cuisine can take us to the Chiavennasca reds of Valtellina or up into the Dolomites for Lagrein, Teroldego and ‘proper’ Pinot Grigio. Before skiing or ‘apre-ski’ these wines highlight the range of North Italian Wines.
