The Holiday Series
December 15th - Nebiolo x Sangiovese, Italian Nobility
Time: 6:30pm Location: 1247 Dundas West, Grape Witches Private Salon
In Christopher’s words: Power, elegance and finesse are words synonymous with both Nebbiolo and Sangiovese based wines of Italy. The Nebbiolo grape from Piemonte in the north, at the heart of the noble wines of the Langhe - Barolo and Barbaresco. Then Sangiovese, the robust grape embodying the warmth of Tuscany forming the base for Brunello to Chianti and many flavours of the region. Let us taste them side by side. A choice selection of new and classic producers to compare.
December 29th - Austria with a splash of Hungary
Time: 6:30pm Location: 1247 Dundas West, Grape Witches Private Salon
In Christopher’s words: Austrian wines have played a significant role in my wine journey particularily in this post-covid 19 lockdown era. Grüner Veltliner will forever be one of my biggest wine-crushes. On the ground in the farms from a wellness and intentional perspective Austria is doing it right. In this session we share a touch more of the deliciousness that is Austria with a journey to Burgenland, an eastern wine region of the country. We will also go a little bit beyond dipping our toes into the wines of Hungary and more!
January 19th - Beaujolais & Beautiful Light Reds
Time: 6:30pm Location: 1247 Dundas West, Grape Witches Private Salon
In Christpher’s words: We revisit the ever popular wines of Beaujolais. Gamay is the grape of this region and it never ceases to disappoint. My spring of 2025 trip to the region was nothing short of the pilgrimage. Discovering the delightful fresh expressions (much more than nouveau) to some recently discovered ‘grand vins’ that defy expectations. Since my return I have discovered some eye catching expression available in our market. Come taste and find out.
