Two of Ontario's most refined and ambitious kitchens are coming together for a one-night-only tasting menu that celebrates the eclectic and outstanding Ontario culinary landscape.
On Wednesday, August 21st, Toronto’s Lucie Restaurant and the One Michelin-Starred Hexagon in Oakville unite for La Collab #13. This exclusive multi-course dinner curated by Chef Arnaud Bloquel and guest Chef Rafael Covarrubias of Hexagon, features two of Canada's most exciting culinary talents redefining modern dining.
Notably Chef Rafael received the prestigious MICHELIN Guide Toronto 2024 Young Chef Award.
Hexagon has earned widespread acclaim for its inventive tasting menus, technical mastery, and hospitality-forward philosophy, culminating in its well-deserved first Michelin Star in 2024. Lucie, recently recognized by the MICHELIN Guide, is known for its refined, ingredient-driven cuisine and is led by a team of French expats who bring an authentic and contemporary approach to French gastronomy in downtown Toronto.
This collaboration is a celebration of shared values: craftsmanship, storytelling, and seasonal expression. The menu will alternate between both chefs, each offering their interpretation of French cuisine while creating a seamless and unforgettable progression of dishes. Lucie's resident sommelier, Quentin Mereu, will curate an elegant beverage pairing to accompany the evening, beginning with a crisp glass of Perrier-Jouët Champagne and continuing with selections designed to complement the structure and soul of each course.

Guests will be welcomed with a complimentary glass of Perrier-Jouët Champagne to begin the evening.
A curated selection of wine or crafted cocktails will be served alongside the meal. Non-alcoholic pairing options are also available. Please mention any preferences when booking. The cost remains the same whether you opt for alcoholic or non-alcoholic pairings.

Meet the Chefs

Chef Arnaud Bloqel - Restaurant Lucie
Born in Querétaro, Mexico, Rafael Covarrubias discovered his passion for cooking early, inspired by a family of devoted home cooks. At age 17, he moved to Canada to pursue his culinary career, honing his skills in Calgary before joining Hexagon in Oakville, where he quickly rose to Executive Chef. Under his leadership, Hexagon earned a coveted Michelin star, and Covarrubias was named the 2024 MICHELIN Guide Toronto Young Chef Award Winner. He is acclaimed for crafting refined tasting menus that fuse French technique with Mexican roots and Canadian terroir transforming local ingredients into imaginative, culture-driven culinary experiences
Chef Arnaud Bloqel - Restaurant Lucie
Born in Guadeloupe, Chef Arnaud Bloquel's culinary journey blends rich cultural influences with the precision of Michelin-starred French kitchens. After gaining acclaim for his restaurant L'Orchidea in the Caribbean, Chef Bloquel brought his expertise to Toronto, where he now leads the kitchen at Restaurant Lucie.
His contemporary approach to French cuisine, paired with a focus on seasonal ingredients and creative techniques, has redefined Toronto's fine dining scene. With a commitment to innovation and excellence, Chef Bloquel continues to elevate the city’s culinary landscape, crafting dishes that merge tradition with modern flair.
